Thenmala Hanging Bridge
Thenmala is a combination of traditional jungle living and contemporary design. The Thenmala Suspension Bridge, built-in 1877, is an engineering marvel. Built of wooden planks and bar chains connected by large nuts, this bridge is a delight to behold. Steel rod hangers support the chains attached to the deck, supported by two pillars at both ends of the bridge and at both ends of the bridge.
Punalure Bridge
There is a gentle movement as you plant your feet on the wooden planks of this olden suspension bridge. Take a few more steps and you’re on the river Kallada. It is strangely quiet at night except for the occasional roar of water. There is a breast in the air and silence echoes around you. This is the kind of place where you sigh and your mind wanders.
The bridge was initially built to prevent wildlife from invading human settlements from the dense forests of the region. At night the bridge is magnificent because it is washed in golden yellow color and glows with all the lights around it.

Inchatotti is a beautiful village close to Neriyamangalam, Thattekadu, and Kothamangalam in the Ernakulam district of Kerala, India. It is famed for the suspension bridge, which is measured to be the lengthiest hanging bridge in Kerala and is approximately 183 m long and 1.2 m (4 ft) wide. The stunning village is situated at a distance of 10 km from the Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary and 60 km from the popular Munnar Hill Station. Ayyappancoil
Ayyappankoil a small village situated at a distance of about 12 km from Kattappana in the Idukki district. It is said that Ayyappankoil was a large township in the early 1960s. The township was vacated by the Kerala government during the construction of the Idukki hydropower project.
It is one of the longest suspension bridges in Kerala and is visited by thousands of people every day. Thekkadi is a popular tourist destination situated at a distance of 30 km from Idukki Ayyapankoil. The nearest tourist destination is Anjuruli Dam.
During the monsoon, the atmospheres are filled with water from the Dam. This is a wonderful visual treat for every tourist. When there is water in the river, tourists can take a boat trip to cross the river and reach the other side.
